The requirement

What the FRSC requires

A speed limiter caps a vehicle’s top speed, so it cannot go faster however hard the driver accelerates. In Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Corps makes them compulsory.

Who must fit one
The FRSC requires speed limiting devices on vehicles nationwide, starting with commercial vehicles: buses, trailers, tankers and trucks.
Since when
The installation deadline the FRSC set for commercial vehicles was 1 October 2016.
The law behind it
Section 10(3)(m) of the FRSC (Establishment) Act 2007 and section 152(4) of the National Road Traffic Regulation 2012.
Who installs them
Not the FRSC. It licenses private firms to supply, install, maintain and service the devices. PrimeTrack is one of them.

Why PrimeTrack

A licensed vendor who also tracks your fleet

A speed limiter sets the ceiling. Tracking shows you everything underneath it: where each vehicle is, how it is being driven, and when a driver pushes against the limit.

  • FRSC-licensed

PrimeTrack is an FRSC-licensed speed limiter vendor for Arrive Alive speed limiters, so the device on your vehicle comes from a provider the regulator has approved.

  • NCC-licensed tracking alongside

PrimeTrack is also licensed by the NCC to provide GPS tracking and telematics, so one provider can cap your fleet’s speed and show you how it is being driven.

  • Support that answers at 3am

PrimeCARE is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the week, for the vehicles you run with us.

Beyond the limit

Limiters cap speed. Tracking shows the driving.

PrimeTrack’s GPS tracking includes speed monitoring and driver behaviour reports, so overspeeding, harsh acceleration and sharp cornering are visible for every driver, not only the top speed.
